如何优雅地享用“夏季的甜点”?

甜品较硬时

  If your dessert is solid

  此时应该使用刀叉。右手拿刀左手拿叉,这一类的甜点通常是派和馅饼类。

  The proper way is to use the dessert fork and knife. Cut with your right hand and eat with the fork in your left hand. Pies and tarts are the best example of dessert for these cutleries.

  甜点比较软或者是流质甜品

  If your dessert is soft or liquid

  使用勺子。类似冰淇淋和各式的水果酱等,不能浪费分毫的美味甜品。

  The convenient behavior is to use a spoon. Ice-cream, and every fruits coulis are too tasty to be left on the side of your plate.

  “海绵”质的甜品

  If your dessert is spongy

  “海绵”质的甜品(不是流质,也不完全是硬的)使用甜品叉子,这类甜品有熔岩蛋糕等。如图,甜品叉子叉齿两边大小不一,这是因为大的一边要用来切甜点。这类叉子通常单独使用。

  If your dessert is spongy (not liquid, but not totally solid), the pastry fork is the best tool to eat elegantly something like a lava cake. As you can see, one side is bigger than the other. It is used to cut your pastry, you would also be able to pick and eat without any other cutlery.

  什么样的甜品用手呢?

  What about your fingers?

  没错,有些甜品可以直接用手拿。这类的甜品通常表面是干的,不会弄脏手指。

  It is true, there are some desserts for which fork, knife and spoon are useless. I recommend you to eat with your fingers if you have a small dessert that won’t let your fingers sticky or oily.

  马卡龙Macaron

  定义:马卡龙的美味源自于融化的甘纳许(ganache)与蛋白糖霜饼的完美结合。巧克力味,咖啡味,玫瑰味,薰衣草味,杏子味,杏仁味,百香果味等等,马卡龙口味多样,随你选择!

  What is it? Macarons are well known for their taste and beautiful combination between the melts ganache and the light meringue. Chocolate, coffee, rose, lavender, apricot, almond, passion-fruit, etc. you can find your favourite flavour!

  怎么吃:单吃一个马卡龙肯定不够,一般可以拿2到3个同时放在自己的盘子中。吃马卡龙可以直接用手。

  How to eat it? One macaron is usually never enough. The common behavior is to take two or three macarons in your plate at the same time. Those pretty desserts can be eaten with your fingers.

  华夫饼Waffles

  定义:华夫饼,或冷吃或热吃,搭配巧克力,草莓,蜂蜜,尚蒂伊奶油等等,每一口都是享受。

  What is it? Their advantage? Cold or warm, with chocolate, strawberries, honey, Chantilly cream:waffles are suitable for every taste.

  怎么吃:在餐厅里优雅地享用华夫饼必须使用刀叉。一些比较随意的场合中也可以直接用手拿着吃。建议一次不要在上面放太多东西,不要太大块,一次一小口,吃的时候华夫饼下面放一张纸巾避免食物掉落弄脏衣服。

  How to eat it? At the restaurant, knife and fork are the only solution to eat them elegantly. But you can also find waffles in more casual places where fingers are acceptable. I will recommend you not to put too many things on it and eat with little bites, with a paper towel under your waffle.

  柠檬挞Lemon tart

  定义:柠檬挞。上层清香的柠檬挞馅与下层酥脆香甜的挞皮在口感上达到一种平衡。真正的美食家,更不会错过柠檬蛋白派。香滑,柔软,再加上一点酥脆的口感,完全充盈你的味蕾,让你完全无法抵御它的诱惑。

  What is it? A wonderful balance between lemon and a crispy sweet base. If you are a food lover, you will even prefer the lemon meringue pie. Smooth, soft, and crispy, this dessert offers a beautiful taste in mouth, enough to give you the motivation to take a second bite.

  怎么吃:馅饼类/派类的甜点需要使用刀叉。如果是柠檬蛋白派的话,可以用勺子吃上面的蛋白糖霜。

  How to eat it? It is better to eat this dessert, as every tart, with knife and fork. If you choose the lemon meringue pie, you can also take a spoon to eat the meringue.

  焦糖布丁Crème brulée

  定义:焦糖布丁。简直是焦糖,奶油香草和松脆表皮的完美交响。它的做法不断地改变,最原始的也是最简单的,香草味搭配焦糖。

  What is it? It is a perfect symphony of sweet, creamy vanilla and a crunchy surface. Although it has been adapted in several types of recipes, the original one is simple, with vanilla and caramelized brown sugar.

  怎么吃:焦糖布丁丝滑醇厚,最适合的餐具是勺子。

  How to eat it? Because of its smooth thickness, the spoon is the adequate cutlery to eat it.

  玛德琳小蛋糕Madeleines

  定义:玛德琳小蛋糕是一种传统法式蛋糕,形状精巧。将玛德琳蛋糕推广到全世界蛋糕殿堂上的功臣,是法国大文豪普鲁斯特“扇贝状的小蛋糕,其坚硬的贝褶下是感官的盛宴”。

  What is it? This traditional French little cake has a particularly delicate shape. They are known because of the description that a famous French author made of them: "...little shell of cake, so generously sensual beneath the piety of its stern pleating." (Marcel Proust).

  怎么吃:用手拿着吃就可以了。玛德琳小蛋糕是下午茶的绝佳点心,可以用蛋糕一边蘸茶吃。

  How to eat it? Your fingers are the best to eat those little cakes. They are perfect for an afternoon tea and I recommend you to soak an edge of the cake in your cup of tea.

  柠檬萨瓦林Lemon berry savarin

  定义:柠檬萨瓦林,非常经典的蛋糕,形状像戒指,口味绵香。松软如海绵般,可以轻易地吸收糖浆或果汁,从而达到绝美的味觉体验。

  What is it? One of the most elegant of classic cakes, this ring-shaped dessert has a unique quality of being super-moist. Their spongy, light texture enables them to easily soak up a generous amount of spirited syrup, which gives the cake a delightful texture.

  怎么吃:柠檬萨瓦林蛋糕,需要用甜点叉子食用。而且用叉子也更方便直接叉起上面的水果。

  How to eat it? Since it is a cake, the perfect manners to eat it are to use the pastry fork. Also, you will be able to pick up the little fruits more efficiently than with a spoon.

  翻转苹果塔Tarte Tatin

  定义:翻转苹果塔。据说翻转苹果塔的由来是因为两姐妹,她们在做苹果塔时,不小心将苹果塔反着放在了炉子里。底部涂满黄油和糖浆的翻转苹果塔由此而生。烘焙时,糖和黄油结成了一层焦糖覆在底面。最后上盘时,再将其翻转过来,焦糖表层在上。

  What is it? Historically born from two sisters, who placed their apple tart in the oven the wrong way up. It became this famous upside-down apple tart with butter and sugar on the bottom. While baking, the sugar and butter create a delicious caramel that becomes the topping when the tart is inverted onto a serving plate.

  怎么吃:翻转苹果塔必须趁热吃。除了使用刀叉切开,吃上面的香草奶油或者是冰淇淋时还需要用到勺子。

  How to eat it? There is one rule for eating Tarte Tatin, it must be served warm, like this, the cream melts on contact. Fork, knife and spoon are needed for eating this particular dessert: fork and knife for the tart and the spoon for the vanilla cream or ice-cream.

  世界上有数不尽的美味甜点,而且都有相应的礼仪。最重要的是,我们总能找到最优雅的方式来享用美食!
